2017 Millbrook graduate Patrick Dorsey has committed to play collegiately at Navy. Dorsey will become the 16th former Wildcat to play college football or basketball since 2014, and the ninth at the Division-I level.
Dorsey scored 696 points in two seasons with the Wildcats. He earned academic all-conference honors and was named first team all-conference as a senior.
He helped guide Millbrook to back-to-back conference tournament championships, and a 2016 regular season conference championship.
As a senior, he scored the fifth most points in a single season in school history with 515 on the strength of 99 made three-point baskets. He scored a career-high 29 on January 20th against Enloe, and downed a career-best seven three’s against eventual 3A state champion Cox Mill in the third place game at the prestigious John Wall Holiday Invitational.
Dorsey was a member of the John Wall Holiday Invitational All-Tournament team, the MVP of the 2016 HighSchoolOT.com Triangle Tip-Off Tournament, and a selection to the 2017 North Carolina vs. South Carolina All-Star Game in Myrtle Beach where he set the record for most made three’s in a game with five.
This past season, Dorsey prepped at Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, VA. He helped lead the Blue Devils to a 19-10 overall record.
Navy is a member of the Patriot League, and is coming off of a 20-12 season. The Midshipmen are graduating only four seniors from this year’s team.
