Scarborough Earns All-Tournament Honors in Loss

Millbrook was one of eight schools in the Lake City Classic to earn fourth game in the tournament. Following a 59-55 loss to Alpharetta, Wildcat senior Adrian Scarborough was named to the All-Tournament team.

A 6-foot-4 wing, Scarborough set a career-high in points scored in two of his four games played. After a career-best 18 in the opener against Upson-Lee, he tallied 12 in a win over Parkview, 19 in a win over Cartersville, and 18 in the loss to Alpharetta.

Paired with his 16.7 points per game was an average of 9.3 rebounds per contest, including 13 boards in a 70-63 victory against Cartersville.

“I am really proud of how Adrian played this week” said Millbrook head coach Christopher Davis, “we really learned a lot about Adrian, and to see how upset he was after losing our last game was something that we had not seen out of him in the past”.

Previous Lake City Classic All-Tournament honorees include Duke’s Alex O’Connell, and Alabama’s Collin Sexton.

The Wildcats dropped its finale to Alpharetta in the final minute of regulation. Scarborough scored eight in the second, and 10 in the third to give Millbrook its only lead at the end of a quarter, 47-43 after three.

Ryan Jenei’s 22 points, and Brandon Barron’s 11 guided the Raiders to victory. With 1:05 left in the fourth quarter, Graham Watkins tipped back a missed basket to take a 53-52 lead, but that would be Millbrook’s final of the afternoon as Alpharetta closed the game on a 7-2 run.

Jabari Brown scored 15 points for a second consecutive game. William Felton scored eight points in the loss.

Millbrook returns to action on Wednesday evening when it travels to Cardinal Gibbons to continue CAP-7 conference play.
