Landon Lee poured in sixteen points, and Adrian Scarborough was at the doorstep of a double-double as Millbrook defeated Enloe 51-34 to open up Cap-8 Conference play.
Lee drained three of his first four shots from downtown as the Wildcats won a defensive struggle. On the glass, Scarborough grabbed a team-high nine offensive rebounds, and as a team Millbrook grabbed a season-high thirty six rebounds in the winning effort.
Enloe gave the Wildcats all that they could handle in the first half as Millbrook was limited to only six points in the second quarter. The Eagles were lead by senior forward Moses Wright’s thirteen points, two of which came on an electrifying putback dunk that gave Enloe a 5-0 lead to start the game.
Millbrook got things going at the start of the third quarter as their lead inflated to as much as twenty one points. Collin Lewis turned in a career night off of the bench as he followed a floater in the first half with two long three point baskets to help the Wildcats pull away in the second half. Lewis scored eight points, and snatched five rebounds off of the defensive glass.
Patrick Dorsey was limited to only four points on one made field goal in the fourth quarter. From beyond the arc, Millbrook’s leading scorer went 0-for-7. Adrian Scarborough helped clean up several of Dorsey’s misses and turned them into part of his nine point, thirteen rebound performance. Scarborough also made a career-high five free throws in the victory.
The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday December 13th when Wake Forest pays visit for another Cap-8 Conference matchup. The Cougars were able to establish an eleven point advantage on Thursday night against Broughton, but would eventually fall 55-51 to the Capitals.
